June 2009"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We had six show up for last night\u2019s meeting (6\/10\/09) at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gcfb.com\/locations\/loc_clive.cfm\">Granite City in Clive, IA<\/a>. It was mostly a social occasion, so there wasn\u2019t a lot of Virtualization content to record. Here are a few points which stood out in my mind:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/supermicro.com\">SuperMicro<\/a> now offers blade servers which integrate a miniature <span class=\"caps\">SAS<\/span> <span class=\"caps\">SAN<\/span> on the back plane. Sounded pretty cool.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.starmind.org\">Josh More<\/a> discussed some basic security concepts around Internet-accessible servers \u2014 Virtual or otherwise.<\/li>\n<li>Had an impromptu \u201cName That Tune\u201d competition between an iPhone and a G1. The iPhone won. This time. . .<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Laserdisc\">Laserdisc video is analog<\/a>, as I pointed out to some peoples\u2019 dismay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The conversation was, as usual, quite random so there were many, many more topics discussed than I\u2019ve presented here.
